I went to the mall to do some shopping. I needed some me time after all the bullshit that had been happening. When I was done shopping, I grabbed some Chinese food out the mall then left. When I made it outside, I popped the trunk and threw my bags in. Soon as I was about to walk to the door, an unfamiliar voice called my name.

“Lena, can I talk you for a second?”

I turned around, and it was Detective Grayson parked behind me, blocking me in. I watched him get out the car and adjust his tie then start walking towards me. I crossed my arms as I leaned against the car.

“What!”

“You don’t have to be so hostile, Ms. Ray. Oh, I mean Mrs. Mayfield.”

I rolled my eyes. “What do you want?”

“I want you to testify against your husband.”

I laughed. “Testify against him for what? My husband didn’t do shit.”

“Is that what he’s telling you? Everybody knows that he shot Marco, including you. So, either you tell me the truth, or you’re going down for conspiracy.”

“Detective Grayson, you don’t scare me at all. If you’re going to arrest me, do it now. I don’t have time to be sitting here playing CSI with you,” I said and reached for my door handle.

Detective Grayson grabbed my arm and pushed me against the car “You think you cute, don’t you? Remember this, I’m going to take you and your husband down. You’re going to wish that you told me the truth. By the way, Marco is out of the hospital. Tell your husband I’m coming for his ass.”

“Get the fuck off me!” I snatched my arm away from him. “You fucking pig,” I yelled as I got into my car then locked the door.

Detective Grayson walked back to his vehicle that was parked behind me. I watched him through the rear view mirror as he got in his car. He sat there for at least five minutes blocking me in before he pulled off. I hated that damn detective. It was something about him. He had a fucked-up attitude, and I got a bad vibe from him. I could tell that he was going to do whatever it took to take Chino down.

He was the prime example of a dick head. Those are the kind of cops who will plant shit in your car just so they could get recognition. Chino wasn’t going to be happy when I tell him that I ran into Detective Grayson and he put his hands on me. I wondered how he even knew I was at the mall. He had to be following me in order for him to know.

I had been in the mall for at least two hours, and all of a sudden, Grayson popped up. I wanted to pull my gun out my purse and put a hole right in his head. If it wasn’t cameras and witnesses outside, I probably would’ve shot his ass. I couldn’t wait to call Chino and tell him what happened.
